Create these Delicious Homemade Biscuits and have them on the table in under 30 minutes. Free of butter, dairy, yeast, eggs, and even sugar. No pastry cutter, rolling pin, or biscuit cutter needed. Making these vegan biscuits, with only 5 ingredients, is simple because all you have to do is mix, drop, bake, and enjoy! Perfect for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and more versatile than you may think. Proving cooking from scratch is convenient and doesn’t have to be complicated.
Have you ever read the label on refrigerator biscuits, the ones that scare you to death when you open the can? If so, you know store bought biscuits contain more than 5 ingredients and are not sugar free. In fact, the first ingredient “Enriched Flour” contains 6 ingredients all on its own. Followed by sugar, a variety of seed oils, and you may even see “beef fat” listed. A huge problem if you are living a plant-based lifestyle and think biscuits are free of animal products. Why not make these Delicious Homemade Biscuits instead?

I have posted several times on my Instagram page, that if you can’t find me trying to stay out of the kitchen, you can find me in my kitchen. A tribute to my love of both playing pickleball and creating in my kitchen. There is so much truth to this statement! If I am not playing pickleball, I am almost always in my kitchen…creating, baking, and experimenting. This recipe is just another example of my passion for baking from scratch using whole food ingredients. It also proves baking at home can be just as convenient as buying processed fast food.

Don’t worry! Even if you are new to baking, you can’t mess this recipe up because making these biscuits is so quick and easy. All you have to do is combine 5 ingredients to end up with these Delicious Homemade Biscuits in under 30 minutes. Best of all you don’t need a pastry cutter, a rolling pin, biscuit butter, or any baking experience to make this simple recipe at home.

These Delicious Homemade Biscuits are convenient since they very little time to mix, drop, bake, and enjoy! They can be eaten hot out of the oven in under 30 minutes or cooled and frozen for later. Use them to make biscuits and gravy, sausage and egg sandwiches, or add a biscuit to a bowl of soup! Drop them on top of chicken pot pie for a delicious dinner as well. See how versatile these biscuits can be? They are perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Below you will find the short list of the ingredients you need.
Ingredients
- Organic All-Purpose Flour
- Baking Powder
- Sea Salt
- Organic Coconut Oil (refined) Or Vegan Butter
- Organic Almond Milk (unsweetened)
- Optional: Ground Flaxseed Meal
Kitchen Equipment
- Large Mixing Bowl
- Wooden Spoon
- Measuring Cup
- Cookie Sheet
- Unbleached Parchment Paper
Biscuit Recipe
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

In a large mixing bowl combine 1 3/4 cups All-Purpose Flour, 1 tablespoon Baking Powder, and 1/2 teaspoon Sea Salt. Set aside

Next, melt 6 tablespoons of Organic Coconut Oil* (refined) in a glass bowl or measuring cup. Make sure it’s completely melted (like shown in the picture above). *Melted Vegan Butter can be used instead.

Measure 1 cup of COLD Organic Almond Milk (unsweetened). Combine the Melted Coconut Oil with the Cold Milk and stir immediately to incorporate the 2 ingredients. Quickly pour the liquid into the flour mixture. Work fast because the cold milk will cause the melted coconut oil to solidify and you don’t want a large chunk of solid coconut oil in the dough. Instead, you want tiny dots of coconut oil distributed throughout the biscuits.

Stir to combine the wet and dry ingredients. Don’t over mix. The dough will feel very “wet” almost like a batter. That’s totally ok. Let the mixture set for just a few minutes while you line a cookie sheet with unbleached parchment paper. A half sheet pan works great but a full size cookie sheet will work as well. Once the dough sets for a few you will notice the dough is more solid and the coconut oil has solidified in tiny dots throughout the dough. If you look closely at the photo above you can see them.

Using a soup or large spoon, scoop and drop biscuit dough onto the cookie sheet. Aim for 8 biscuits that are all about the same size. They should be pretty large. Do not press down or flatten.

Optional: Brush the top of each biscuit with Almond Milk and sprinkle with freshly ground Flaxseed Meal.

Bake at 350 for about 15 minutes. Enjoy right out of the oven! Cover them with a simple vegan gravy. Slice biscuits through the middle for quick and easy egg or sausage sandwiches to go. Or try a biscuit soup bowl! Place Delicious Homemade Biscuits in a bowl and pour your favorite soup over the top. Trust me – this is better than soup crackers, croutons, or any bread bowl!
Notes
If you are allergic to coconut or don’t have Coconut Oil, Vegan Butter works just as well. Simply substitute 6 tablespoons of melted vegan butter for 6 tablespoons of melted coconut oil. Please Note: Cooking oils will not work for this recipe since they are won’t solidify when mixed with cold almond milk.

Also, I do want to share my favorite Organic Unsweetened Almond Milk with only 3 ingredients – Organic Almonds, Filtered Water, and Sea Salt!!! This is the brand I used to make these biscuits. It’s also the plant-based milk I prefer with granola and oatmeal. I am not being paid to recommend this brand. It is simply my favorite because I can pronounce all the ingredients and there are only 3!

- 1 cup Organic Unsweetened Almond Milk (cold)
- 1 tsp Optional: Freshly Ground Flaxseed Meal
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine All-Purpose Flour, Baking Powder, and Sea Salt. Set aside.

- Measure 1 cup of COLD Almond Milk, combine with the Melted Coconut Oil, stir quickly, and then pour it into the flour mixture.
- Work quickly because the cold milk will cause the melted coconut oil to start to solidify. You want to end up with tiny dots of coconut oil distributed throughout the biscuits.
- Mix the wet and dry ingredients just enough to combine. Don’t over mix. The dough will feel very “wet” almost like a batter at first. Let the mixture set for a few minutes while you line a cookie sheet with unbleached parchment paper and when you return to it, it will be more "dough" like.
- Using a soup or large spoon, scoop and drop biscuit dough onto the lined cookie sheet. Aim for 8 biscuits that are all about the same size. They should be pretty large. Do not press down or flatten.
- Optional: Brush the top of each biscuit with Almond Milk and sprinkle with freshly ground Flaxseed Meal.
- Bake at 350 for about 15 minutes. Enjoy right out of the oven or allow to cool completely and freeze for later. Re-heat from frozen in a pre-heated oven at 350 degrees for about 5 minutes.
