Embrace Change… You will be more inspired by life when you do. Change is something we all experience. There is no getting around it. In fact, it is one of the only constants in life. Very few other things are as absolute as change. Even though we know it’s part of life and impossible to avoid, it’s not surprising that we also fear it. Change can definitely cause stress, anxiety, and affect our overall mental health. However, change has many positive aspects as well. It can help us grow, improve, thrive, and even inspire us.
Change can create inspiration in the same way that inspiration can create change.

I was recently inspired when I heard of a quick change we could all make in our lives in regards to daily tasks. It was a challenge to simply say “I get to…” instead of “I have to…”. What an inspiring way to create change in our lives with such little effort! It’s merely a shift in our perspective that helps us change the way we view a task, chore, obligation, or activity. For example, I get to make dinner instead of I have to – creates so much more potential for inspiration.
By making this small change in perspective you allow yourself the opportunity to be more creative and creativity can help fight the anxiety caused by change. This works because creativity activates the part of the brain that processes emotions. According to MQ Mental Health Research, “Focusing on the present moment and the creative process can help reduce anxiety and promote positive emotions which decrease the stress hormone known as cortisol.” So instead of a chore or a mundane task causing unnecessary stress or anxiety, you can actually inspire creativity by shifting your mindset about that task at hand.
This is just one example of a small change we can make in our every day lives. We can apply this simple change to all parts of our health and wellness journey.
- I get to go for a walk
- I get to go to work
- I get to run an errand
- I get to exercise
- I get to eat healthy
It’s important to remember that small changes lead to big results over time. I hope this inspires you to embrace change. It can have lasting benefits to your overall wellness. Finding the joy in change can inspire you and those around you.
