Easy Kefir Fruit Smoothie

This is my favorite way to drink kefir everyday! It all starts with a fresh cup of homemade organic kefir. Add nuts, seeds, spinach, frozen fruit (no ice required) & blend to perfection.
- 1 cup Fresh Organic Kefir
- 10 Whole Raw Organic Almonds
- 1 tsp Organic Chia Seeds
- 1 tsp Organic Hemp Hearts
- 1 tsp Organic Flax (seeds or meal)
- 1 handful Organic Fresh Spinach
- 1 Organic Banana (sliced)
- 1 scoop Organic Beet Powder
- 1/2 cup Frozen Organic Sliced Strawberries or Raspberries
- 1/2 cup Frozen Organic Blueberries
Add fresh kefir to a high speed blender container. I have used both the Vitamix and Ninja. Both work well.
Add the organic almonds.
Add the organic seeds… chia, hemp hearts, and flax.
One handful of fresh organic spinach
Slice 1 banana and add it on top of the organic spinach.
Add 1 scoop of beet powder, which makes the smoothie a purple/pink color and disguises all the green spinach!
Lastly add the organic frozen berries. Use strawberries if you prefer a less seedy smoothie. Or a combo of all 3 berries. Blend until smooth. Should take 1 minute or less depending on your blender. Enjoy!
The sweetness of this smoothie depends on how ripe and sweet the fruit is and the tartness of the kefir (which can vary with each batch).
If you need to sweeten it slightly, try a small amount (less than a teaspoon) of agave, honey, or maple syrup. Rest assured that as your tastebuds adjust, the fruit alone will be plenty sweet enough!
Get creative and make any alterations you like. Try experimenting with different organic nuts and seeds. Walnuts, pecans, peanuts, pumpkin seeds, and sunflower seeds. After all it is a smoothie...you really can't mess it up!
For the maximum digestive benefit, drink this Kefir Smoothie before a meal. It is also a great post workout smoothie.
