Simply Great Garbanzo Beans

Cook dry garbanzo beans in under an hour with no soaking required! Then use them to make delicious protein packed cookies, hummus, and more! They are a great source of vitamins, plant-based protein and fiber.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Dried Garbanzo Beans
  • 4 cups Filtered or Spring Water

Instructions
 

  • Add Dried Garbanzo Beans and Water to an Instant Pot. Cook on high pressure for 40 minutes. You can let the Instant Pot naturally release or do a quick release after cooking.
  • Remove with a slotted spoon and serve hot or cold.
  • Makes 3 cups of cooked beans. Keep in the refrigerator for up to a week or freeze for up to 6 months.

Notes

No Instant Pot???  Bring 4 cups of water to a boil, add 1 cup of dried garbanzo beans, reduce to a simmer, cover, and cook on the stove for upwards of 90 minutes. I prefer the Instant Pot for the time saving ability and simplicity of not having to watch the beans cook or worry about them boiling over on the stove.
